Pruned to perfection
A topiary is a plant that’s been pruned (larger “limbs” cut away) and clipped (small “branches” trimmed) to reveal an intentional design. As opposed to a free-flowing plant (like Ivy), a topiary is a work of art.
You see them in formal settings— when gardens are deliberately shaped. And, as you might imagine, it requires patience— and a lot of work.
Topiaries come in many shapes.
🏴 In England they’re often cut into animal forms.
🏛️ In Roman times (they’re not new!), they were used to decorate elite areas.
Now, we use them everywhere…
🌳 Smaller topiaries look great throughout your home— on an end table or fireplace.
🌳 Mid-sized versions can shape the flow of a living room, your front porch, or your outside garden.
🌳 Larger topiaries mark property lines, entrances, or become eye-catching features.
