I'm Kay.
I think of myself as a serial entrepreneur, a Mom & "Grandee," and your friend.
My late-husband (Bob) and I did everything from a Pharmacy to Tea Rooms to raising a family. Everything we did, we did together.
A few years ago, my daughter and I were looking for a new creative outlet.
"What about a flower shop?" we thought.
But we wanted it to be more than just flowers. We wanted it to be "all the things" we love, the small elements that make a house a home, the tiny treasures that make any space sacred and create a refuge.
So, we opened Topiaries.
Part flower shop, part home decor, and full-on fun, we invite you to become one of our "backdoor" friends.
Life is hard & life is beautiful.
(Yes, it's both.)
When we named our store Topiaries, we knew that a Topiary is a perennial plant that's been pruned in order to accentuate the as-of-yet unseen beauty.
But we hadn't yet thought about the deeper, personal meaning.
Then we were the topiary:
🌳 Hurricanes in the Destin area pruned our Tea Rooms (and business) years ago
🌳 My beloved husband died too soon
🌳 The list goes on...
And, though your list may be different (but just as painful), we all walk through times of joy and sorrow alike. That's one of the reasons we need to celebrate-- and create-- beautiful places and enjoy beautiful moments.
And it's one of the reasons we need each other.

1. Visit us in-person.
We're behind the Maze Antique / Craft Mall in historic downtown Americus, Georgia. When we say "backdoor" friends are the best, we mean it.
With convenient parking (and lots of signage and flowers outside) you can't miss us!
2. Attend a class.
Most Saturday afternoons (and at a few other times) we host an in-person, hands-on class. We provide the supplies and the (brief) instruction; you show up and create a mini-masterpiece you can take and showcase in your home!

We upload new training and home decor tips monthly-- all with easy step-by-step outlines you can follow.

You might have unsuccessfully tried to grow a garden (or even just keep house plants alive!) in the past. You can do it; you just need to be shown how!

We were designed for relationships. In the same way plants are beautiful, so also are people. And, in the same way plants thrive in the company of other plants, so also do people come alive and shine in the presence of other people.
