Transform an ivy plant into a topiary

plant care

Repurposing your plants is one of the most fun aspects of gardening. Here’s a super-simple, ultra-easy example:

1️⃣ Let your Ivy plant grow all Summer.

2️⃣ Transform it into a topiary in the Fall.

You need a nice-looking pot, something that reflects your style. (Pro tip: you don’t even have to repot the plant— just set it directly into the planter!)

Then…

👉 Tie two pieces of wire together. You can use a zip tie or even a twist tie.

👉 Wrap the Ivy up and around the wire, pulling it to the top.

👉 Leave some hanging over the edges— remember, plants don’t look perfect (they change every single day).

Go ahead and place it somewhere outside— Ivy thrives outdoors.

And, to add your unique flair to it, twist the wire into a unique shape— a heart, a circle, a cone, or anything else!
