How to make your terrarium look like "yours"

terrariums

In another tutorial video, we built a terrarium. Here, we want to highlight a few fun facts about terrariums centered around making it your own.

Here’s what you need to know:

🎉 Make it your own.

You don’t have to build yours like anyone else creates theirs. Use the plants and pieces you like— and place them where you want.

🎉 Do it “on the cheap.”

We grab little pieces at the Dollar Tree and other general stores. In fact, we purchase the items even when we’re NOT making a terrarium. We just know we’ll use them later.

(You can visit the Dollar Store, Dollar General, etc., OR you can walk into Topiaries and we’ll show you how “secret stash” in the classroom.)

🎉 “Mess around with the stuff.”

We use a glue gun to add anchors and stakes to the accessories, so they ladybugs and turtles and other small items don’t tump each time we (or a kid / grandkid) touches the terrarium!

🎉 You do you.

In this video, we say that “Less is more for me.”

Note that: FOR ME.

You do you.

If you want to go overboard and overload your terrarium, do it. If you want a plant with NO accessories, go for that.

Remember, that’s not a right or wrong way to do gardening— apart from planting a summer plant in the middle of the snow season. Other than hitting the correct seasons, you can get away with ANYTHING.

Let your garden— and your little terrarium— reflect you!
